ACE Steering Group meeting, no. 1
Wednesday, 25th April, 2005
Le Meridien Hotel, Opernring 13-15 Vienna
Email from Alan Haywood to MJS, 17 Feb 2005
Hi Martin,
While I am thinking about ACE - I have a preliminary members list for the mid Miocene and Pliocene sub committee.
Myself ( UK )
John Smellie (co-chair; UK )
Allan Ashworth (USA)
Dave Cantrill (Swedish)
Sandra Passchier (Dutch)
Paul Valdes (UK)
Carrie Lear (UK)
We tried to get a good mix of nationalities and gender but its pretty tough to do. If you have no objections to the list I will email the members to let them know the final composition of the sub-committee.
I will then go on to write a half page terms of reference for the committee and then work on the science plan. I am not sure how detailed we need to make this at the moment, so as a first pass it will be at a high level document and quite general. Our aim will be to have a draft of this sent to you ahead of the EGU meeting.
Just a thought - is there going to be an open venue for ACE at EGU? John Smellie and I were thinking that it would be good to let everyone know that we are here, who is in what and what and what we are doing.
Cheers
Alan
